Home is where the heart is. The climate, food, people, culture, and environment in Belagavi are so mesmerizing that no one wants to leave the city and stay here forever. However, due to jobs, business, education, or marriage, few Belgaviites are compelled to leave their home sweet home and settle elsewhere. But even if one leaves Belagavi, it always remains close to your heart and it’s a wonderful feeling altogether when you meet fellow Belgaviites in another city.
BIP is a WhatsApp group created to bring all Belgaumites staying in Pune under one roof. The group was created in 2014 and today has more than 200 members. The purpose of creating the group was to help each other in times of need and indeed the group was very helpful during lockdowns where the members helped each other in carpooling, blood donations, finding a house, shifting materials, supplying food, bringing parcels from home and in many other ways.
All this happened without knowing each other and connected only through a single bond, our beloved hometown.
The group members plan to meet for the first time in Pune on Sunday 21 August 2022. The purpose of the meeting would be to know each other and to strengthen the BIP community so that it becomes more useful in the future. Any person who is from Belagavi and presently staying in Pune can attend the casual meet-up. For more details about the group and the meeting, you can contact Vaibhav Kulkarni, Sachin Patil, or Amar Kulkarni on 9986087399 / 9921266599.
At the same time, we appeal to Belgaumites staying in other cities to create similar groups and arrange such meet-ups thereby staying connected to Belagavi even staying away from it.
