Remember the KGF dialogue? Duniya me sabsi badi yoddha MAA hoti hai. Though it applies to all mothers, Rohini Tendulkar is best suited for this dialogue.
(We had shared about her in the past, but today being Women’s day we are resharing it in case it can help her in her struggle)
Rohini’s son Oudumbar went to Mumbai to work on a construction site. Just like you and me, he too had big dreams to achieve something and serve his mother. In August 2019 when there were floods and heavy rains throughout the country, Oudumbar slipped and fell from the first floor of an under construction building. Unfortunately, he fell on his head causing major brain injuries.
Due to heavy rains, it took several hours to take him to the hospital. He was admitted in a private hospital in Mumbai who said, you can take him to Belagavi and there are no chances of his survival. Rohini, being very optimistic and hopeful, brought him to Belagavi and they operated him at Venugram hospital. He was in a coma and not responding or making any movements. The doctors and staff at Venugram hospital treated him very well and social activist Santosh Darekar took the further responsibility.
They took him home and he is now bed ridden. Rohini herself does the sponging, bandaging, pipe feeding and medication on a daily basis as she cannot afford any nurse. Rohini lost her husband 8 years ago and Oudumbar is her only son. She sold all her property for his treatment and is now staying in a small house on mandoli road.
A positive sign is that Oudumbar is making some movements now. He recognizes her mother and holds her hands tightly, though he cannot speak yet. Rohini is very very positive that Oudumbar will be back on his feet but she needs all our help.
We request you all Belgaumites to come forward and help Rohini. We have visited her house and checked all credentials and facts. In fact we would be glad if you could meet her personally and see how she is bravely fighting her conditions on daily basis to see her son back on his own feet.
The first thing that comes to our mind when we hear any Tendulkar is Sachin Tendulkar. But yes, we are going to cheer Oudumbar Tendulkar the same way like we did for Sachin, when we he will stand on his own leg, hopefully very soon.
