KSCA Hon. President Roger Binny, a cricketing all-rounder who is best known for his impressive bowling performance in the 1983 Cricket World Cup where he was the highest wicket-taker (18 wickets), and in the 1985 World Series Cricket Championship in Australia where he repeated this feat (17 wickets) was on a visit to Belagavi on Tuesday.
During his various engagements with the members of the KSCA, he also paid a visit to the KSCA cricket stadium at Auto Nagar and was very satisfied with the ground upkeep.
He lauded theme members for the great maintenance of the pitch and outfield and also inspected the ongoing works which he said would complete by October.
The Sports complex and allied works will be completed in the next 6 months, he said.
The ongoing works include a gymnasium, swimming pool, 28 rooms, party hall, etc. for which Rs. 25 crores have been allocated.
Once the works are complete the KSCA will open for membership to the citizens of Belagavi. Once the KSCA gets the fixtures of the other matches from BCCI the KPL is plan will be revealed and definitely Belagavi will host a few matches.
