A trader was critically injured when two robbers entered the shop and opened fire demanding money at Math Galli on Friday night. The incident has created fear in the business community.
The injured shopkeeper identified as Rakesh Rupchand Jain aged 45 has received around twelve stitches after the bullet brushed past his head.
Three men arrived at Rakesh Jain’s Chetna Stationery Mart at Math Galli around 9.30 am on Friday.
One of the three stood outside the shop while the other two entered the shop.
One of the two who spoke in Marwari had a mask on his face and asked Jain for some stationery item.
While Jain was handing over the same, one downed the shutter of the shop and the other one took out a pistol aiming at Jain demanded money, and also fired once which luckily just bruised Jain’s head.
Jain then recovering after the fall and injury threw whatever he could get a hand on. After seeing the retaliation the robbers opened the shutter and fled away.
Rakesh Jain, who was injured in the incident, was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
A case has been registered at the Market police station and police are searching for the unidentified robbers.
