Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa directed officials to identify State-level government offices in Bengaluru and take necessary action to shift these to Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi in the next month.
“Identify state-level government offices in Bengaluru within a month and take necessary action to shift these offices to Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi,” said Yediyurappa in a statement.
The aim of shifting offices is to address the regional imbalance.
Yediyurappa said he would visit Suvarna Soudha shortly to inspect it.
Since the establishment of the Suvarna Vidhan Soudha each govt in power has been taking the same decision of shifting offices to SVS but nothing has moved over the years.
Committees were formed, inspection done, orders made but in reality no offices were shifted to the SVS which lies vacant.
