After around 55 days of the lockdown the North West Karnataka Transport Corporation buses started plying from Belagavi central bus stand on Tuesday.
City and inter-district bus services, along with bus services within the Belagavi district were commenced.
472 buses were made operational from Belagavi and Chikkodi divisions together.
275 buses have been deployed to connect talukas and other districts from Belagavi which is 25% of the buses that usually run.
The passengers were being screened after being let in through a single entrance at the backside. Their temperature is being recorded and their complete details including name, address, and contact numbers are being noted down. Once the passenger gets on the bus, the conductor sprays sanitiser on his/her hands.
Only 30 passengers are allowed in a bus and the fare has not been hiked.
City buses also were plying from today.
